This is the memorial to the 7th Division, a few metres from the crossroads at Broodseinde just up a gentle slope from Zonnebeke. This is a particularly appropriate spot for it was here that the Division dug the first trenches in the Salient, between 16 and 20 October 1914.

Dochy Farm New British Cemetery is a post-war cemetery, where men were brought from many areas of the Salient. 1,439 British soldiers now lie here. The farm lies mid-way between St Julien and Zonnebeke, in an area fought over extensively in each of the Battles of Ypres.

View from 's Graventafel crossroads south-west across Zonnebeke (two tall chimneys of the brick works right-centre) to the slightly higher ground south of the Menin Road.
