| Arras is an excellent location for touring the battlefields of the Vimy Ridge and around Arras. It is a convenient location for the Somme (about half an hour drive), Cambrai and Loos ( both about the same). The town centre is very attractive and makes for a pleasant evening stroll. Plenty of restaurants and bars, shopping and sight-seeing options. |

Most hotel receptionists speak some or very good English. This is not always the case with the smaller hotels and guest houses in this area, but a friendly approach or a clearly written email will usually work well. |
