VI (Howitzer) Brigade

This was a unit of Britain's pre-war regular army. It is also sometimes shown as 6 (Howitzer) Brigade RFA.

History

  • Comprising only number 77 Battery and based at Jhansi in 1914, this brigade came under command of the 7th (Meerut) Division of the Indian Army. It remained in India throughout the war, leaving the Division when the latter went to France. In 1915-16 it was under the 1st (Peshawar) Division.
