Albert Victor Taylor (1891-1955) was born in Tottenham, and enlisted in the Rifle Brigade in October 1907, and served in the UK, Egypt and India.

During the Great War he served in on the Western Front and in Salonika. During 1915 he was an Acting Sergeant, 4th Battalion, Rifle Brigade.

In June 1918 he was granted a Commission and posted to the Dorsetshire Regiment.

Four months later, he was attached to No. 1 School of Aeronautics, Reading for a flying course, but on the Armistice the course was cancelled.

In February 1921 he left the Army to go to Australia, joining the R.A.A.F. in 1923 and serving there until 1950.

This information was kindly submitted by Albert's only daughter, Judy Bowan (nee Taylor). As she has few details of his career, she would be interested in any information, particularly concerning the history of the 4th Bn Rifle Brigade in the Great War.
