Albert, 20, and Nathan Payne, 21, both serving with 5th Battalion, the Bedfordshire Regiment on Gallipoli, were killed in action on 15 August 1915. Neither of the brothers has a known grave, and both are commemorated on the Helles Memorial to the Missing.
