New member with some (hopefully) interesting experience

Having used the excellent 'Long, Long Trail' website for quite a long time, I eventually got around to joining the forum.

I have been researching my family's military history for a number of years now, and have details of some 27 relatives who fought in the Great War - my Grandfather was on active service during the Great War and WW2.

This has led me to all manner of archives of information, but without doubt the most difficult to crack was getting Grandad's records from the Ministry of Defence.

So, hopefully, I'll be able to lend a hand to those with the daunting task of just starting out on the military history trail, but equally look forward to some sage words of advice from other memebrs.

Even with a pretty comprehensive personal library, the Long, Long Trail remains one of my most valuable research aids !
