The Second Battles of Arras, 1918 The Battle of the Scarpe - 26th - 30th August 1918 First Army VIII Corps : 8th Division (25th Brigade) XXII Corps : 11th Division, 51st Division Canadian Corps : 1st, 2nd and 3rd Canadian Divisions, 4th Division, and Brutinel's Brigade. Third Army XVII Corps : 52nd Division, 56th Division, 57th Division This action included the Tactical Incident of the Capture of Monchy le Preux by the 3rd Canadian Division. Notes : VIII Corps came into the geographical limits of this action on 28th August, and XXII Corps on 29th August, when they took over the 51st Division from the Canadian Corps. Brutinel's Brigade, under the command of Brig-General R.Brutinel, consisted of the 1st and 2nd Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigades, the Canadian Corps Cyclist Battalion, and a section of lorry-mounted trench mortars.
