while in Egypt on 29 January 1917, and moved to XXI Corps Cavalry in
Palestine in August 1917; D Squadron joined 14th

May 1916: all units except A Squadron reformed in France, whereupon C
Squadron the Surrey Yeomanry joined them to form III Corps Cavalry.

July 1917: the Duke's units became GHQ Troops and dismounted.

September 1917: after infantry training, the men joined a battalion of
the Manchesters, which was redesignated 12th (Duke of Lancaster's Own
Yeomanry) Bn, the Manchester Regiment.

September 1914, and remained in UK. In July 1916, converted into a Cyclist
unit, moving to Ireland in May 1918.

Formed
in 1915. Remained in United Kingdom until absorbed by the 6th Reserve
Cavalry Regiment in early 1917.
