1/1st August 1914 : in Reading. Part of the 2nd South Midland Mounted Brigade, which in August 1914 was attached to the Mounted Division. September 1914 : Brigade moved to 2nd Mounted Division. April 1915 : moved to Egypt, and in August 1915, dismounted to Gallipoli December 1915 : moved to Egypt January 1916 : Brigade became an independent command and redesignated 6th Mounted Brigade. February 1917 : Brigade joined Imperial Mounted Division. June 1917 : Brigade joined Yeomanry Mounted Division. April 1918 : with the Buckinghamshire Yeomanry, formed C Bn, the Machine Gun Corps June 1918 : moved via Italy to France August 1918 : renumbered 101 Bn, Machine Gun Corps 2/1st Formed September 1914, and remained in UK throughout the war. In July 1916, converted into a Cyclist unit. 3/1st Formed in 1915. Remained in United Kingdom until early 1917, when absorbed into 6th Reserve Cavalry Regiment. Other Yeomanry Regiments |
