Notts & Derbys Mounted Brigade

On the breaking up of the 2nd Mounted Division in January 1916, this Brigade became an independent command and was redesignated 7th Mounted Brigade. It left Egypt and moved to Salonika, returning to Egypt in June 1917 (although the transport ship carrying the Notts Yeomanry was torpedoed and the Regiment was landed temporarily at Mudros). On arrival in Egypt, the Brigade was attached to the Desert Mounted Corps. In May 1918, it left and joined the nwly-formed 2nd Mounted Division, which in July 1918 was redesignated 5th Cavalry Division, and this Brigade became 14th Cavalry Brigade.
