Order of Battle, November 1918 
 

7th Infantry Brigade

This Brigade was formed in France in December 1915, composed of units that were already in the theatre, attached to different formations.

Soldiers of the Division wore a French Grey patch. 7th Brigade colour was green, and each battalion had a distinctive green shape: the Royal Canadians had the circle, PPCLI the semicircle, 42nd the triangle and 49th the square.

8th Infantry Brigade

This Brigade was formed in France in December 1915, composed of units that were already in the theatre, attached to differenet formations. The four battalions of this Brigade were formed from six Canadian Mounted Rifle regiments.

Soldiers of the Division wore a French Grey patch. 8th Brigade colour was red, and each battalion had a distinctive green shape: 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles had the circle, 2nd the semicircle, 4th the triangle and 5th the square.

9th Infantry Brigade

This Brigade arrived in France in February 1916, from Shorncliffe.

Soldiers of the Division wore a French Grey patch. 9th Brigade colour was dark blue, and each battalion had a distinctive green shape: 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles had the circle, 2nd the semicircle, 4th the triangle and 5th the square.

The Division was initially without its own artillery, but was supported from 20 March 1915 by that of the Lahore Division which remained in France when that Division left.
